Hiram Fire Department

Our Fire Department is staffed with personnel trained in both firefighting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Our staff members operate two Advance Life Support (ALS) Ambulances with state of the art medical equipment. Using this state of the art equipment and the protocols set forth by the The Cleveland Clinic, the Hiram Fire Department provides the best EMS services possible. While our primary hospital transport locations are Cleveland Clinic’s Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center, University Hospital’s Geauga Medical Center, and Robinson Memorial Hospital, trauma patients, and critically ill patients are usually transported via aeromedical transport to the most appropriate facility available.

In addition, we operate two custom fire engines, which contains equipment for virtually all types of fire or rescue responses including the Jaws of Life. A wild land suppression vehicle, specialized for off-road fire attack also aids in protecting property and saving lives.

Home Fire Safety

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports, eight out of ten fire deaths occur in the home. Although the number of fire fatalities has dropped significantly over the past decade, the percentage of fires that occur in the home has remained steady.
